First Aid members are notified via special pagers of emergencies by Hazlet Township Police dispatchers, who receive 911 and other calls for help. On-call members then drive to one of our two stations using their personal vehicles (please yield to blue lights!). Upon arrival at the station, members respond to the scene with an ambulance or other appropriate apparatus. After assessing and treating priority conditions, we transport the patient to the best-suited medical facility, often either Bayshore Community Hospital or Riverview Medical Center. There is no fee for our services. Advanced life support (needed in certain situations), provided by MONOC Paramedics, is billed to your insurance company. Even in these situations, transportation is often provided by the squad without any charge.
We have two stations, which ensures timely response to the entire township:

The Squad's call volume has increased over 40% since 1999. We continue to meet the increasing demand on our services despite a declinded membership base and rising operating costs.
